Looking for a lucrative story!

 'anything can happen in politics!!'
ASPIRING politician, Karen Danczuk, has just Tweeted:
'Since trial I've had 5 attacks on car (slashed tyres, diesel, nails, paintwork) I'm sure its coincidence but remember, I travel with 2 boysKD'
As a consequence The Sun has reported today:
'Last year she bravely waived her right to anonymity to talk about being raped by her brother between the ages of nine and 11 to encourage other survivors of sexual abuse to speak out.
Burke, 38, was jailed in December after being convicted of eight counts of rape and one other serious sexual offence against Ms Danczuk and two other women following a trial.'
All this will help her to continue to create an image of an heroic public figure, and to counter those malcontents who have merely sought to present the lively lass as a trollop and a tart.
Everyone who has sat in the council chamber at Rochdale Town Hall while she was a councillor for Kingsway Ward, will have seen how fine a figure she cuts working-her-fingers-to-the-bone on her Twitter Account, while at the same time dealing with council business.
Talk about multi-tasking!
There's few better!
You never know Karen!
With the Labour Party in such a present state of disorientation, and now seems to be utterly frightened to death of even expelling her disorderly ex-husband Simon Danczuk for bringing the party in to disrepute.
It's just possible given the crazy world we live in that the party may even end up expelling Jeremy Corbyn and crowning Mr. Danczuk as its new leader.  In such circumstances Karen may get her wish to be an Honarable Member for somewhere or other.  In a Tweet today she says:
'anything can happen in politics!!' .

Never thought I'd be waking up to see Labour hold 😳😳 Just shows, anything can happen in politics!! KD

How to be an Inmate?

Michael Burke must prepare his own narrative for cell-mates

by Brian Bamford – a former inmate at Strangeways HMP
IF Michael Burke, who was yesterday sentenced to 15-years jail having been found guilty of raping his own sister 'Selfie Queen' Karen Danczuk as a child, and sexually assaulting two other girls, is to avoid himself being brutalised and possibly raped in the British prison system, he must now be carefully preparing his own narrative to relate to the prison community on the wings.
Only yesterday the Manchester Evening News (MEN) carried a story by a prison officer at Strangeways notorious Victorian prison in Manchester in which the unnamed source said 'staff are living in fear of violence and nothing is being done to stop inmates using drugs and mobile phones'.
'Out of Sight, Out of Mind'
English people tend to adopt the view of 'Out of sight, out of mind!' with regard to their own prison system, and the anonymous source told the MEN that 'It is clear the home secretary does not understand the issues staff face daily'.
The prison officer is reported to have said in a letter that 'prisoners have no respect for authority, are violent to fellow inmates and staff and take drugs such as spice.'
Furthermore, he wrote:  'There have been several incidents at HMP Manchester where staff have been threatened by prisoners and governors have done nothing to protect the staff.'
'Notoriety' of Defendant and 'Fame' of Complainant
Defending Burke, Nicholas Walker QC said Burke had suffered a downfall of a 'very public nature'.  And Mr. Walker added:  'It's a feature of this case he can't enjoy the luxury of anonymity as the others may enjoy'.
The judge, Mr Justice Gilbart, told Mr. Walker QC that he was not sentencing Mr. Burke on the 'because of his notoriety' in the media but based of the evidence presented in Court.  Mr Justice Gilbart said of Mrs. Danczuk that though she was 'well known' the Court will protect those in the media, and she had been active as a Councillor.
Karen Danczuk, the estranged wife of the disgraced Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, had claimed her mother was distant, that her her father worked nights, and that her brother Michael had begun grooming her from the age of six for sex, before getting into bed and raping her from the age of nine as other siblings slept.
Mr. Justice Goldbart, handing down the sentence to the defendant:  'Whether she (Karen Danczuk) was nine, ten or 11 at the date of the first rape is not clear, but on any view she was a young girl who not reached puberty.  After she had endured your attentions up to the age of 11 she stood up to you, you didn't touch her again.
'You have shown not a shred of remorse in your defence you spent much of your time claiming she had orchestrated a conspiracy against you, a claim I regard as entirely absurd.  Your second victim was a naïve 12-year-old ... you did not care whether she agreed or not, (went from heavy petting to) forcing yourself on her just as you had your sister.
'You ejaculated within her and you persuaded her and she persuaded herself that it was normal.
'You made (the third victim) submit.  Here too you alleged she was part of the conspiracy.' orchestrated by your sister.'
Mr. Justice Goldbart told Mr. Burke:  'You have an attitude to women that reveals a self-justifying lack of insight.'
Meanwhile, we must wait to see if any British newspaper carries another exclusive insightful interview with Karen Danczuk who claims to have suffered 'severe psychological harm'.
On the wings of a Total Institution
As Michael Burke goes into the cells to begin his sentence he will be entering what sociologists call a 'total institution'.  He will be striped, showered and searched before he gets to the cells on the reception wing.  He will be questioned as to any special dietary requirements.  I normally lie and declare myself to be a vegetarian in the hope that it may enable me to get more choice when the food is dished-up.
Once on the wings he must have a suitably convincing narrative to explain his predicament to his fellow cell-mates and other prisoners in the jail community.
In Court Two of the Manchester Crown Court yesterday, Mr. Justice Goldbart, educated at the  University of Cambridge, may have preached to you about you having 'shown not a shred of remorse'.  That may well be the case, but the prison community is an entirely different jurisdiction from the Crown Court, and he will soon find out it applies its own rules and posses its own hierarchy and standards.
Rule 43!
Michael Burke needs to prepare himself skillfully if he is not to end up segregated serving his ten-year sentence on Rule 43.*
To establish his status in the prison hierarchy Michael Burke will have to present a story which will  be acceptable and will gain him respect among the inmates.  To do this and survive on the wings, he needs to reaffirm his defence that a 'conspiracy' was 'orchestrated' against him by a group of people who had malicious intent.  In the context of an all-male community the idea of what the novelist Henry James called a 'capricious woman' would not be difficult for the average prison inmate to understand, (see 'The Princess Casamassima ).
For Mr. Burke to now suggest to his fellow prisoners that he is the victim of a 'conspiracy'  by an ex-girl friend and a former partner would not be something that the male prison community would find hard to understand, especially when one of the complainants has given an exclusive interview to the press.  Though it is not yet known if she will be paid for this.
Some substance may be given to this account by an exchange of e-mails in September/ October 2015, when Northern Voices was given a name of someone who had approached some women previously associated with Mr. Burke.
At that time we put the forward the following question to this individual:
'I have been given information from two separate sources that you were in contact with a number of Michael Burke's former girl friends or partners, some of whom subsequently went to the police.  'Could you confirm if this is true, and if it is, explain why you did this?
'Look forward to your early response'
A reply came back to NV two days later in the form of a threat:
'These allegations are completely untrue, defamatory and may constitute a malicious falsehood if published.'
Considering this response and in the dangerous prison environment as described by the Strangeways prison officer above to the MEN, a conspiracy narrative could save Michael Burke's life.  Karen. Danczuk may have secured what she now calls 'closure' but she has done so by using the criminal justice system to deliver her own brother into the human jungle of the British prison system.  Meanwhile she can now get on with her life like she has been performing on 'Bear Grylls', or being paid to appear on 'Loose Women'.
As a sociologist/ ethnomethodologist as well as a former prison inmate, for practical purposes in prison I would advise Michael Burke to stick to the defence he presented in the Manchester Crown Court: that he is the victim of a 'stitch-up' by what the defence described as an 'attention seeker' and what the press call a 'Selfie Queen'.
Rule 43 states that any prisoner can apply to be taken into solitary confinement on a Vulnerable Prisoners Unit, for his own protection. Jailed police and prison officers, sex offenders and showbusiness celebrities often apply for this.

Ex-School Governor Michael Burke Sentenced

KAREN Danczuk's brother, Michael Burke, was this morning given a 15-year sentence on eight counts of rape and one of buggery in Court Two of the Manchester Crown Court.
Sentencing, Mr Justice Gilbart said that he did accept that former Labour party activist Michael Burke had ‘done something for the community’, with Mr Walker adding that he had also been a school governor.
Michael Burke, 38, of College Bank, Rochdale , was found guilty of historic raping his own sister Karen Burke, now Mrs Danczuk - the estranged wife of Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk.  He was also convicted of sexual assaults on two other women - one of whom was just 12 when she was attacked by him.
Handing down the sentence for Burke for eight rape charges and one of buggery, the High Court judge told him:  'Your first victim was your sister...what had been tickling games and hide and seek in and out of your bedroom turned into you wanting her to touch you and then, when you got to 14, to exploit her further.'
Karen Daczuk was legally entitled to anonymity as a victim of a sex assault, but had now formally waived it after Michael Burke was found guilty, after The Sun newspaper ran an exclusive story of her ordeal.
It is not yet clear if Ms. Danczuk has been paid for this story.

The Danczuk's on the 'Street of Shame'!

THE current issue of Private Eye (No. 1433), pondering the possible lavish historic payments from the Sun newspaper for stories and photos over the last few years relating to the MP for Rochdale and his ex-wife Karen Danczuk, discusses Ms. Danczuk's almost indecent haste to waive her 'anonymity' following the verdict against her brother for rape:
'It was, perhaps, grimly inevitable that Karen Danczuk, ex-wife of Simon Danczuk, should have "waived her right to anonymity" to reveal in the Sun that she was one of the child victims of rapist Michael Burke, her own brother.'
The Eye story filled almost a column of its feature page 'STrEeT Of ShaMe' and listed the nice little earners that the Danczuks had coiled in the past from media outlets.
With respect to the current exclusive coverage in The Sun the Eye says:
'Precisely what financial arrangement Karen Danczuk has with either the [photo] agency or the paper we do not know (when she divorced her MP husband last year she also stepped down as a director of Danczuk Media Ltd, the company the couple had set up "to assist in the production of media articles").'

Michael Burke Guilty of Rape!

£17K or £23K?:  It was The Sun that Paid It!
YESTERDAY Karen Danczuk, 33, the estranged wife of Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk and a former Rochdale councillor, waived her right to anonymity by speaking publicly after her brother’s conviction on rape charges.
Mrs Danczuk, the estranged wife of Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk and a former Rochdale councillor, told the jury at Manchester Crown Court which convicted her brother of a series of sex attacks:  'Whereas my first time of having sex was with my brother.  It’s horrible.  Even now I can’t sleep naked.  I can’t even cuddle in bed.  Most people remember their first time having sex with somebody they love.'
She told a jury she was regularly molested in the family home between the ages of six or seven until she was 15 or 16 by Michael Burke, her brother who is five years older than her.
After a three-week trial on Wednesday, the jury found Mr Burke guilty of eight counts of rape and another serious sexual offence against three women, including three counts of rape against his sister between 1992 and 1994.
He was cleared of nine other serious sexual offences.
Karen Danczuk initially revealed publicly she had been abused, without naming her attacker, in an interview with The Sun newspaper in February last year.
The two other victims came forward shortly afterwards.  Neither can be named for legal reasons.  During the trial Mrs Danczuk gave evidence from behind a curtain around the witness box, shielding her from the dock where her tormentor sat, often shaking his head in denial.
The mother of two boys aged six and eight, told of her unconventional and unhappy childhood, growing up in a terraced house in Middleton, near Rochdale.
Northern Voices, which was covering the case on last Friday and the Monday of this week, heard in the summing-up by The Hon. Mr Justice Gilbart* that Karen Danczuk had been paid a sum of money for The Sun interview.  The amount is disputed but is said to be in the region of either £17,000 or £23,000.
In her evidence Karen Danczuk said:
'It started out like it was a game, it was not so much an attack, it was, like, innocent.
'It was a game of hide and seek, think I was about six or seven. He would always take me into his bed. He would lie next to me, we would be under the bed covers for ages. The first time he was literally on top of me naked.
'It was a slow process. That kind of went on for some time, the hide under the bed covers stuff carried on. It still haunts me now.'
She said the abuse progressed to rape, aged 11, on a weekly basis, usually on a Sunday evening which was 'bath night' and continued until she was 16.
The first person she told of these events was a clinical psychologist at Nye Bevan House in Rochdale in 2009 after she felt suicidal and depressed.
She was cross-examined over two days by Nigel Power QC, defending her brother, who queried why she went first to the papers before the police, asked if money was her motivation and accused her of 'attention seeking'
She said:  'To this day I have grown up and fought my whole life to change my childhood.  I decided I would come forward, that was my choice.
'Before I ever became famous I was seeking help, before I ever knew I would end up in the public eye.
'This idea that it is just attention, this has ruined my life.  I have had a horrendous life, it’s a fact.  This is why I have had help from doctors because it’s a fact.  Days when you have, being dead makes more sense than being alive.
'I think I finally felt ready to face it, I’m ready to see this through, he can’t get away with what he did.
'My life has been hell for what he’s done, I don’t want anything, I want closure.'
Meanwhile, today The Sun ran another exclusive story based on Karen Danczuk's account of how she suffered from her brother's attentions when they both were children in the early 1990s.
Mr. Michael Burke will be sentenced on December 15.  After the guilty verdicts, Mr Justice Gilbart told Mr. Burke:  'A custodial sentence is inevitable.'

Rape Defendant Claims 'Conspiracy'!

PLEADING 'Not Guilty' at Manchester Crown Court to 15 charges of rape, one of attempted rape and one of indecent assault stretching back to the early 1990s, the defendant Michael Burke, 38, of College Bank, Rochdale, hit back at his accusers suggesting that there had been a 'conspiracy' in bringing the charges against him.
Two of the girls were of school age, reported the Manchester Evening News.
Fourteen of the charges are in relation to two girls, who were under 14 and under 16 at the time of the alleged assaults, with three related to a woman in her late 20s.
Cross-examined by Peter Wright QC for the prosecution, Mr Burke said claims that he made a complainant subject to his demands with the use and threat of violence were ‘part of the conspiracy’.
He added:  'These allegations are wholly made up against me'.
Mr Wright said:  'There’s no suggestion of any conspiracy.'
Mr Burke responded:  'Not in this courtroom, but if you look further into it that’s what this is.'
'The truth is that you committed these offences', Mr Wright said.  'The truth is I haven't committed any of these offences,' Mr Burke answered.
Mr Burke denies 15 charges of rape, one of attempted rape and one of indecent assault dating back to the early 1990s.

Michael Burke: Danczuk Critic Charged

NORTHERN Voices, having today approached the Greater Manchester Police Press Office about the recent arrest of Michael Burke, the brother of Karen Danczuk the wife of the Rochdale MP, Simon Danczuk, received the following responses:
'Michael Burke (03/09/1978) of College Bank, Rochdale has been charged with breach of bail. He appeared at Bury Magistrates Court on 6 January 2016 where he was released with further bail conditions.
'Shortly before 1pm on Monday 4 January 2016, police in Rochdale received a report that a man had been intimidated by a number of people following an incident in Rochdale town centre earlier that day.'
The GMP Press Office also reported below that a 37-year-old man believed to be Michael Burke, had been arrested together with a man aged 34-year-old on 'suspicion of witness intimidation':
'A 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old man who were arrested on suspicion of witness intimidation have been bailed until 2 February 2016.
'
Shortly before 1pm on Monday 4 January 2016, police in Rochdale received a report that a man had been intimidated by a number of people following an incident in Rochdale town centre earlier that day.'

The police point out that no-one has yet been charged with 'witness intimidation', and that an investigation into this is continuing.
Last Monday morning, it seems Mr. Burke and the other man had participated in a well publicized protest outside the Rochdale Labour Party office of Simon Danczuk following strange revelations in the media about the MP's private life, which has shocked some of the MP's constituents.

Karen Danczuk's Brother on Sex Charges

YESTERDAY Michael Burke, the elder brother of Karen Danczuk, was charged with 11 counts of rape, five of indecent assault and one of attempted rape.  Mr. Burke, 37, works as a security guard and was first arrested in February this year when his sister Karen Danczuk gave an interview claiming she had been sexually abused as a child by a ‘family friend’.  At that time Michael, the father of three, waved his right to anonymity saying:
‘The allegations are false.  I’m just so shock and disgusted by it all.’
Later, he was held again following further claims of ‘new information’ before yet again being released on police bail.  It seems that two other women had come forward to make complaints against him.
Yesterday, when Mr. Burke appeared before magistrates in Bury, his solicitor Zoe Gascoyne said:
‘These are all allegations this defendant denies and will go on trial at the crown court.’
The prosecutor, Shazia Aslam said that there would be no objection to bailing Mr. Burke as he had already been on police bail for the last nine months without incident.
Mrs. Danczuk is a former Labour councillor in Rochdale, who came to fame as ‘Queen of the Selfies’ after posting seemingly endless photographs of herself on Twitter.  Her husband, from whom she is now separated, is the M.P. for Rochdale, Simon Danczuk.  He too is famous in his own right as a campaigner against historic child abuse, with the help of Northern Voices and John Walker, a former editor of the Rochdale Alternative Paper (RAP) he made the headlines when he outed the former Rochdale M.P., Sir Cyril Smith for child abuse in 2012.   Greater Manchester Police have said that one woman and two girls are involved in the current allegations against Mr. Burke.

Will Labour Suspend Mr Danczuk?

by Les May
If the story in the 'Mail on Sunday' about Simon Danczuk's 2008 holiday in Spain with now estranged wife Karen proves anything it is that since his arrival in Rochdale he has created at lot of enemies and some of them have finally caught up with him.

To many people in Rochdale these stories are not new.  They have been circulating as e-mails and as accounts on the World Wide Web for some years.  What is new is that the witnesses to both the fallout from whatever happened between the couple and the attempted 'cover up' by the Labour Party, have been prepared to go on record and make statements to the MoS about what they saw, heard and did.

My experience of putting questions to Mr Danczuk is that he shrugs them off and refuses to answer, and I have not doubt he will do the same with the MoS story. But there are two organisations which cannot afford to ignore it. The first is the Labour Party which will lose all credibility if it tries to treat this story as just another, 'Daily Mail hatchet job on Labour'.

If there is one thing everyone knows about acting leader Harriet Harman, (she of the pink van), it is that she is forever trumpeting Labour's support for 'women's issues'. Well here is her chance to prove it. At the very least Harriet Harman has to suspend Mr Danczuk temporarily until a new investigation into what happened between the couple in Spain and subsequently, which takes into account both the statements made by Karen Danczuk's family to the MoS and the copies of texts sent by Karen to her family. If she feels reluctant to act upon what is after all as yet only an allegation, albeit a well supported one, she need look no further than Mr Danczuk's own record.

A Huffington Post article of June 22nd this year said 'Labour MP Simon Danczuk has accused his party of failing to act “quickly and efficiently” after he urged Ed Miliband to remove Lord Janner last year after police revealed historic sex abuse allegations'.  As Leicestershire police were unable to confirm that they were investigating Janner with a view to bringing charges this did not happen. But it did not stop Mr Danczuk milking it for publicity.

Ms Harman also has to investigate, and make public, the actions of Anna Hutchinson, the North-West regional director of the Labour Party who contacted Martin Burke, Karen's father, after he made a complaint to the chairman of Rochdale constituency Labour party about the incident in Spain. If Mr Burke's claims are true, and I have no reason to doubt them, then Ms Hutchinson 'blackmailed' Mr Burke into dropping his complaint by threatening that his son Steven would be prosecuted for an offence falling under the Data Protection Act. This looks very much like an attempt at a 'cover up'.

Given that Mr Danczuk has made his name by claiming that the activities of Cyril Smith and others were 'covered up' by people in high places, there is a certain irony that the same sort of accusations are now being levelled at the Labour party. The second organisation is the Greater Manchester Police service.  The MoS article quotes Karen Danczuk's mother Sue as saying, ‘On the phone, she told me he’d attacked her.  Yet the day after she got home, she was going on about how it was lies.' As with Karen's father Martin I can see no reason to doubt these claims and this rapid change of story surely casts some doubt upon Mrs Danczuk's credibility as a witness.

Either Mr Danczuk did 'attack' her and she changed her story after she got home or she massively exaggerated to her family the nature of the 'argument' the couple had had.  Whatever happened it is difficult to explain why a woman with small children found herself at an airport that was closed for the night with little or no money and no tickets to get home.  In February Mrs Danczuk claimed she had been abused in the family home by an 'older family friend'.  By early March the claim had become that it was her older brother Michael who had 'raped her hundreds of times'.  Michael was subsequently arrested and has been bailed twice.  Two women who Michael had known in the past came forward to press further claims against him.  Whether they were prompted to do so by a third party is unknown. At some time in the not too distant future someone at GMP has the unenviable task of deciding whether charges will be brought against Michael against a background of doubt about whether Mrs Danczuk has proved to be an entirely reliable witness with regard to what really happened in Spain in 2008.

In the past I have been critical of what I call the 'Posh Women's Tendency' in the Labour party.  But on this occasion I hope they will show their mettle and press Harriet to suspend Mr Danczuk from the party. After all she showed no such inhibitions in calling for the BBC to sack Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson because she objected to a word he had used.

Another Arrest in Danczuk Family Saga

ANOTHER brother of Karen Danczuk, wife of the Rochdale MP, Simon Danczuk, this time a half-brother, has been reported as being arrested following allegations that he has been harassing her on Twitter with messages.   Paul Taylor, aged 48, is said to have been arrested last month.
The Greater Manchester Police have said that:  'A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of harassment and bailed pending further inquires.'
Paul is the second brother to have faced complaints and allegations from Mrs. Danczuk, earlier this year Karen's 36-year-old brother, Michael Burke, was arrested over claims he raped her at home in Middleton repeatedly, when she was aged between six and twelve.
Michael has continually denied these allegations, has yet to be charged and the Greater Manchester Police, last week, told Northern Voices that 'he has been re-bailed until the 27th, August 2015'.
Mrs Danczuk, 31, who is mostly famed for posting revealing photos of herself on Twitter, has recently spoke out about how the accusations against Burke, as well as her rising media profile, has strained relations between herself and her family.
With these potential cases pending, and the possibility of contamination of evidence, in the interest of justice it is surprising that Mrs. Danczuk should continue to express herself in such an incontinent fashion both on social media and on the BBC.

Brother of Karen Danczuk has his bail extended

LAST week Michael Burke, who earlier this year was accused of historic sex abuse by his sister Karen Danczuk the wife of the Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, has had his bail extended until the 4th, June 2015.  As yet, Mr.Burke has not been charge with any offence!  Yesterday, a  spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police told Northern Voices that Mr.Burke had been bailed pending further investigations.
