Ukraine TV boss beaten up by Neo-Nazi MP!
Since the disgraced and corrupt Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych, did a runner to Russia with much of the country's money, its been claimed by Russian officials that the new interim government in Kiev, is in the hands of Fascists and 'Neo-Nazis'. The raid on the offices of Oleksandr Panteleymonov, (see video) the head of the Ukrainian state television company, by members of the far-right Svodoba party, undoubtedly reinforced this view and handed Vladimir Putin, a propaganda coup.
One of at least five men, who barged into the office of Mr. Panteleymonov, accusing him of broadcasting pro-Russian images, was the Ukrainian MP, Igor Miroshnichenko, a member of the nationalist Svoboda party. He is seen shouting at him and hitting him while demanding that he write a resignation letter. The men who attacked Mr. Panteleymonov, filmed the incident and posted it online. Miroshnichenko, who is a member of the new Ukrainian parliamentary committee on freedom of speech, said afterwards, that he did not believe that he had done anything wrong.
The Ukrainian state television company, was accused of biased reporting and censorship during the stand-off in Kiev and Mr Panteleymonov was criticized for broadcasting "Moscow Trash". Former boxer, Vitali Klitschko, who plans to stand in the presidential elections in May, said the it was important that MP's were punished and called the attack on Mr. Panteleymonov, "savagery and lawlessness". He also called on the prosecutor general, who is also a member of the Svoboda party, to launch an open and transparent investigation into the incident.
