The Battle of Barton Moss
The political policing of the Barton Moss Protectors has reached new heights of brutality. There were 13 arrests at Barton Moss anti-fracking protest yesterday 17th March. One protector Vanda was subjected to considerable violence at the hands of the police and required hospital treatment. There followed a 10 hour mass protest outside Swinton Police station in support of the protectors being held in custody. The protest at the Moss was entirely peaceful and the police actions were disproportionate. There needs to be an independent enquiry into the police actions at Barton Moss which have resulted in well over 150 arrests.
