Children’s Book Festival are to present THE GREAT STORY THEFT - an interactive piece of theatre created
specifically for 2 to 7 year olds (and their grown-ups) – at the Royal Exchange
Theatre on Sunday 29 June.
In this entertaining new show, Dee Doris Daisy and the
Make-Believers seek to find their stolen bedtime stories. They’ll be at the
heart of the action as they help follow the clues and solve the mystery so that
the Make-Believers can snuggle down to a comfy sleep.
Audiences will journey into their imagination, navigate
wonderful landscapes and discover strange creatures in the enchanting Royal
Exchange Great Hall.
Performed at 11.30am
and 2pm, this world premiere
features budding talents direct from the Royal Exchange Theatre Young Company.
Previous Young Company shows include TALKING VAGUELY ABOUT REVOLUTION, a hard-hitting exploration of
politics and how young people are viewed within our society. THE GREAT STORY THEFT shows a different
side to the Royal Exchange Young Company, as they present this fun,
child-friendly and active piece of theatre for 2 to 7 year olds.
The Young Company is made up of 120 young people aged 14 to
21 from all areas of Manchester. Whether marketing, writing, acting or being a
design technician, they have all worked professionally and gained vital skills
this year, enhancing their knowledge of the theatre industry. Applications are
open for the Royal Exchange Young Company 2014-2015 now.
