Russian Journalist - Marina Ovsyannikova
The former Russian state television journalist, Marina Ovsyannikova (44), has fled Russia with her daughter and is now living in Europe.
She was under house arrest, and placed on a wanted list, after denouncing Putin's invasion of the Ukraine, during a live television broadcast and after carrying out a lone-protest near the Kremlin. She displayed a placard that read: "Putin is a murderer. His soldiers are fascists."
Although Ovsyannikova is said to be under the protection of an unnamed European state, the French President, Emmanuel Macron', had already offered her asylum and consular protection.
