Starmer spoke to Israeli President before crucial SNP vote on Gaza.

Isaac Herzog- President of Israel

Sir Kier Starmer-oid has admitted to having spoken to Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel, before embarking on Parliamentary manoeuvres that scuppered the Scottish National Party's (SNP) motion calling for a full and immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

It has been widely alleged that Starmer-oid lobbied the Speaker of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, to break with precedent to let a watered-down Labour motion be debated before the SNP motion that called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an "end to the collective punishment of the Palestinian people" and an end to arms sales from Britain to Israel. Starmer is alleged to have told Hoyle that choosing his motion was in the interests of MPs' safety.

It was also reported that as many as 100 Labour MPs, including two shadow cabinet ministers, were planning to rebel against the Labour leader who has been accused of excusing genocide in Gaza and of being a cheerleader for Israeli mass murder. When Labour's amendment passed, the SNP's motion was scuppered and a mass Labour rebellion was avoided. The Commons descended into chaos with SNP and Tory MPs walking out in protest at the way Hoyle had bent the rules to get the Labour leader out of a tight spot. Hoyle later apologised for the way he'd handled matters but said he'd done so in the interests of MPs safety. Since the vote, over 80 MPs have expressed no confidence in Lindsay Hoyle as the Speaker.

Spain recently agreed to ban arm sales to Israel but Britain, the U.S. and Germany, continue to supply the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), with weapons and ammunition to kill Palestinians. Over 29,000 people have been killed in Gaza. Most of these are not members of Hamas but innocent men, women, and children. Well over 10,000 children have been killed by Israeli carpet bombing and Israeli ground forces.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ), recently ruled that the conflict in Gaza "may plausibly be genocide", though it stopped short of calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The UK Conservative government of Rishi Sunak, recently used its seat on the UN Security Council to abstain on a vote calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the U.S. vetoed the motion.

Last November, Labour abstained on a motion calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and this was supported by all three Labour Tameside MPs, Angela Rayner (Ashton-under-Lyne), Jonathan Reynolds and Andrew Gwynne. Reynolds, who represents the constituency of Stalybridge & Hyde, is a Vice Chairman of Labour Friends of Israel (LFI) and Gwynne, who represents the constituency of Denton & Reddish, is a former Chairman of LFI.

Sir Kier Starmer-oid has stated publicly, "I support Zionism without qualification." Starmer-oid may have avoided a Labour rebellion but his political stance on the conflict in Gaza and the way he bows and scrapes to the Israelis, have lost him the Muslim Labour vote and the Rochdale by-election. It's truly scandalous the way in which the Israeli lobby meddle in British politics and the way in which some British politicians, are in thrall, to this little country in the Middle East.

Does anybody really know what Labour stands for under Starmer-oid?

Sir Kier Starmer-oid

Apart from a desire to become the next UK Prime Minister and a thirst for power, it's difficult to know what Tory-lite Sir Keir Starmer-oid really believes in or what he really stands for. The Labour Party leader can turn on a dime in his quest for power and his pledges don't amount to very much.

As the journalist Peter Oborne shows in this excellent Double Down News (DDN) video, Starmer-oid has done a U-turn on most of his pledges. Starmer-oid is the great dissembler and hypocrite who will say anything to get a vote. Yet, in an age of social media, it's more difficult to dissemble because your deceit can be exposed in the dusty archives of your forgotten past.

In his younger days, Starmer-oid was a Trotskyist and a member of Socialist Alternatives, which represented the British section of the International Revolutionary Marxist Tendency (IRMT). Today, Starmer-oid wraps himself up in the union jack and praises the monarchy. He's previously said that he prefers Davos to Westminster. But in his younger days, as a Pabloite Trotskyist, he was a fervent anti-capitalist and anti-Royalist. He was also in favour of giving the trade unions greater power.

Starmer-oid has often been accused of selling out, but he's not the only Labour big shot that can be accused of being an apostate. Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson were once members of the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB). Starmer-oid is very much a political chameleon who can change colours to suit every occasion.

Trump found guilty of financial fraud

 Donald Trump

Former U.S. President, Donald Trump, and his eldest sons and business associates, have been ordered to pay over $350m by a New York judge who found them guilty of intentionally committing financial fraud over the course of a decade.

Judge Arthur Engoron, barred Trump and two other executives from serving as officers or directors of any corporation or entity in New York for three years. In his decision, Jude Engoron, said:

"fact and expert witnesses simply denied reality, and defendants failed to accept responsibility or to impose internal controls to prevent future recurrences" adding, the defendants "complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological."

The hefty fine comes on top of an $83.3m judgement against the former president in a defamation suit by the writer E. Jean Carroll. It's doubtful whether Trump is wealthy enough to pay the fine or defamation judgement.

Yet, the New York judgement, is likely to improve Trump's prospects of winning the Republican primaries. Although Trump was found to have inflated his assets for the purposes of obtaining loans, he devalued his assets for the purpose of taxation.

Trump always denies wrongdoing and claims he's the victim of a political witch-hunt. Unfortunately, many stupid Americans tend to agree with him and fall for Trumps lies and demagoguery. They see Trump, a property speculator, as a kind of Messiah of the rust belt and a champion of the ordinary American workingman.

Death of Alexei Navalny

Alexei Navalny

It takes a brave man or a bloody fool to stand against the Russian president Vladimir Putin. Most of Putin's critics left Russia long ago, but Alexei Navalny, who has died suddenly in prison at the age of 47, returned to Russia in January 2021, after undergoing months of medical treatment in Germany for Novichok poisoning. The Novichok agent had been applied to Navalny's underwear when he was staying at an hotel in Tomsk.

On his return to Moscow, he was immediately taken into custody. He would never leave jail again. Considered to be one of Putin's staunchest critics, Navalny was serving a 19-year jail term on charges widely considered politically motivated.

Last year, Navalny was moved to the Polar Wolf Artic penal colony 40 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Navalny had looked healthy when he appeared by video for a courtroom appeal on Thursday, the day before his death. The prison authorities said Navalny had felt unwell following a walk on Friday and had lost consciousness. Although the cause of Navalny's death has yet to be established, his death is likely to be seen as a political assassination attributable to Vladimir Putin.

In 2015, opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, was shot dead on a Moscow bridge a stone's throw from the Kremlin. In August 2023, the Wagner boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was killed in an unexplained plane crash weeks after leading his mercenaries in an armed mutiny.

The deskilling of Britain's medical profession

The medical profession in the UK is being quietly deskilled. Since the COVID lockdown in 2020, many GP's have become notoriously fickle and have eschewed face-to-face contact with their patients, even though their pay has increased incrementally. You might say they've been cutting their own throats with a blunt razor, slowly putting themselves out of work. Consequently, much cheaper and less medically qualified people such as 'Physician Associates' (PA's) and 'Anaesthetist Associates' (AA's), are now being allowed to do much of a doctor's work.

Already, in General Practice, patients are finding it difficult to see a qualified doctor and are being referred to nursing practitioners, physiotherapists, nurses, and even pharmacists. The new roles are all part of the Tories' so-called 'NHS Workforce Plan' a cunning scheme that aims to rapidly create lots of less skilled positions that patients think are doctors but who are less medically qualified people.

Some medical professionals have warned of the inherent dangers for patients in seeing less medically qualified staff who may misdiagnose, a medical problem. Other have warned of the dangers of 'scope creep'. There have been instances of Physician Associates undertaking neurosurgery.

At least two deaths have already been linked by coroners to incorrect diagnosis by P.A.'s. Emily Chesterton, a 30-year-old woman from Salford, was diagnosed with a calf-strain but died of an embolism. Ben Peters, aged 25, died of a heart hemorrhage after being diagnosed with a panic attack and gastric inflammation. In November 2022, he had attended the emergency department at Manchester Royal Infirmary with chest pain, arm ache, a sore throat, and shortness of breath, symptoms which are associated with myocardial infarction (a heart attack). While waiting in A&E, he had endured a "severe episode of vomiting." He was seen by a non-medical school trained physician associate but not a doctor, who diagnosed a panic attack. A supervising consultant, who never saw Mr. Peters, agreed with the diagnosis.

Labour in disarray over Israel and and Gaza

Sir Keir Starmer

Sir Keir Starmer-oid is getting himself all tied up in knots with his pro-Israeli stance on the conflict in Gaza and his obsession with eradicating delusionary antisemitism in the Labour Party. Bowing and scraping to Marie van der Zyl, the President of The Board of Deputies of British Jews and Netanyahu's ultra-right-wing Zionist thugs, he's prepared to condone genocide. Anyone who says anything remotely critical of Israel, is forced to apologise and gets dumped. We shouldn't be surprised at this. Starmer-oid has stated publicly, "I support Zionism without qualification."

Graham Jones, the former MP for Haslingden & Hyndburn, was suspended on Tuesday. He's alleged to have used the words "fucking Israel" and said that "British people who volunteer to fight for the Israeli army should be locked up." In 2023, Ruth Smeeth, now Baroness Anderson of Stoke-on-Trent, a Jew and a former Director of BICOM, Britain's most active pro-Israel lobbying organisation, said this of Graham Jones:

"Graham is a true ally to me during the height of the antisemitism crisis in the Labour Party. Week in, week out challenging anti-Jewish hate and demanding that more was done. I'm proud to call him a friend."

In Rochdale, Labour have disowned their official candidate Azhar Ali, because he claimed that Israel had ignored warnings of an imminent attack to justify an attack on Gaza. It seems that Israel did ignore warnings of an attack from the Egyptians, but it has yet to be proven that they did so, even if it seems likely they did so, in order to make it a green light for an attack on Gaza. Labour initially tried to say that Azhar Ali had embraced a false conspiracy theory that didn't really reflect his own views. He was then overheard accusing "people in the media from certain Jewish quarters" of inflating claims of antisemitism, and he was then toast. The former Labour Jewish MP, Louise Ellman, condemned Ali's "outrageous and deeply offensive conspiracy theories" but said she had "known Azhar for over 20 years and he consistently supported me when I was subjected to anti-Semitic attacks."

Starmer-oid is beginning to resemble Don Quixote who attacked imaginary enemies and evils by tilting at windmills. He doesn't brook any opposition or deviation from the official Starmer party line. Neither can he accept a different point of view or perspective when it comes down to Israel. There isn't much democracy in Starmer's Labour Party. Under his leadership, Labour is likely to lose the Muslim Labour vote and not just in Rochdale. Rochdale should have been a safe Labour seat, but it may well now change hands. Jewish campaigners now fear that George Galloway and his Workers Party of Britain, could win the Rochdale by-election. I bet Galloway is rubbing his hands at Labour's chaos.

Labour withdraws support for Azhar Ali

Azhar Ali

Azhar Ali, the Labour Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Rochdale is certainly right that the Israeli authorities appear to have been given prior warning about an imminent attack on Israel before 7 October 2023.

On 9 October 2023, The Times of Israel, reported that an unnamed Egyptian intelligence official had told them, "Jerusalem had ignored repeated warnings that the Gaza-based terror group (Hamas) was planning 'something big' - which included an apparent direct notice from Cairo's intelligence minister to the prime minister."

U.S. Texas Congressman, Michael McCaul, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said last October, that he'd been told at a closed-door intelligence briefing that Egypt had warned the Israelis "that an event like this could happen" at least "three days" before the Hamas attack. Israel denied the reports of Egypt sending a warning saying they were "absolutely false." The Israelis have said the attack was due to an "intelligence failure." The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has denied receiving any such advance warning and said the story was "fake news."

If the Israelis were tipped off by the Egyptians, then it does beg the question why they didn't act on it and why they deny having received any advanced warning. Are the Egyptian intelligence official and the U.S. Congressman, both lying? The whole thing looks highly suspicious, but whether the Israeli government ignored the warnings of a Hamas attack, so they could have justification to take military action in Gaza, isn't entirely proven, even if it appears likely.

The big shots in the Labour Party have made Azhar Ali apologise for his remarks because they bow and scrape in a very greasy and subservient way to the Israeli government and Marie van der Zyl OBE, the President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. They have also withdrawn party support for Azhar Ali who will now have to stand as an independent.

The Labour Party leader, Tory-lite Sir Kier Starmer-oid, who says publicly, "I support Zionism without qualification" has tilted the Labour Party sharply towards supporting the Israeli ultra-right-wing coalition government of Benjamin Netanyahu. In doing so, Starmer-oid is in danger of losing the Muslim Labour vote.

Since 7 October 2023, over 28,000 people have been killed in Gaza including over 10,000 innocent children, and in excess of 67,000 Palestinians, have been wounded. Despite the death toll and charges of "genocidal intent" levelled against Israel by South Africa and other countries, Starmer-oid has refused to back calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He has said this would "embolden" Hamas to commit more acts of violence. Starmer-oid, a former human rights lawyer, has also said that Israel has the right to deny the people of Gaza energy and water. Under international law, this is considered a war crime.

Last summer, Starmer-oid backed calls for a ban on UK concerts by the former Pink Floyd band member Roger Waters, alleging that he "clearly espoused antisemitic views" and that his concerts should be called off to stop him spreading his "troubling" beliefs. Starmer-oid called for the ban after receiving a complaint about Rogers Waters from Marie van der Zyl. Waters, a supporter of the Palestinian people, denied the allegations and called Starmer-oid a "loathsome snake." In a post on Twitter, Waters wrote: "Keep the Israeli Lobby out of UK politics."

Disgraced former MP to stand in Rochdale!

Simon Danczuc

No Show Without Punch

By Les May

So Simon Danczuk, or as he is more commonly referred to these days, ‘The disgraced Simon Danczuk’ has decided that he is ready to inflict himself upon the good people of Rochdale yet again. Just when we were trying to forget our shame that in 2018 a Labour councillor, Faisal Rana, had voted twice in a local election and escaped censure, we find that our town is back in the news after Simon announced he was to be the Reform Party candidate at the next election seemingly standing on a platform of stopping inward migration across the English Channel. The evident lack of success at this, which seems likely to become the graveyard of the political ambitions of Rishi Sunak, ought to be a warning to all who are tempted to vote for Simon because of course saying you are going to do something isn’t the same as actually doing it. But once he’s got his bum back on the House of Commons benches it will be five years on the expenses gravy train, with all those potentially lucrative newspaper columns and ‘photo-ops’, before he can be called to account.

Naturally so far the column inches have all mentioned his ‘sexting’ escapade in 2017 and his supposed ‘outing’ of Cyril Smith in 2012. But as readers of Northern Voices will already know Cyril Smith was ‘outed’ in 1979 in the columns of ‘The Rochdale Alternative Paper’, (RAP) by the editors David Bartlett and John Walker.

If you have never heard of Simon or just want to refresh your memory of the way he and his co-author managed to turn a few grains of fact about Cyril Smith’s antics at Cambridge House Hostel in the 1960s into a book of ‘flowery flannel’ in the shape of ‘Smile for the Camera ’ published in 2014, then I urge you to scan the past pages of the NV blog where you will find that Simon was mentioned in no less than 259 articles and not always favourably.

Happy hunting!
